These terms cover use of the Ikonik Studio website and the general terms of any project work we take on. Specific projects are always governed by a written scope-of-work document (SOW) that overrides these general terms where they conflict.

All project work begins with a written scope-of-work (SOW) or statement-of-work. The SOW covers deliverables, timeline, pricing, revision rounds, assumptions and dependencies. It is signed by both parties before work begins.
Our quotes are fixed for the scope described in the SOW. Changes to scope during a project are handled through a written change order, quoted separately, and only executed once approved.
Standard payment terms are 50% deposit on SOW signature and 50% on project delivery. Longer engagements or retainers are billed monthly in advance. Invoices are due within 14 days of receipt. Late payments may incur interest at prevailing prime rate.
Project timelines are built collaboratively and depend on prompt feedback and material delivery from the client. Delays in client feedback or approvals may extend the delivery date. We flag any timeline risk in writing as soon as we see it.
Every SOW includes a specified number of revision rounds per deliverable. Revisions beyond the included rounds are charged at our standard hourly rate, quoted before work begins.
Written approval (email is sufficient) is required to sign off each project stage. Once signed off, subsequent changes to that stage are treated as new scope.
On full payment of all invoices, ownership of final deliverables (websites, logos, files, custom code, brand books) transfers to the client. Ikonik Studio retains the right to display the work in our portfolio, case studies and marketing.
Design working files (Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator source), development staging environments and internal tools remain the property of Ikonik Studio unless specifically included in the SOW.
Third-party assets used in the project (fonts, stock imagery, plugins, licences) are subject to their own licences. Ongoing licences (e.g. font subscriptions, premium plugins) are the client's responsibility to maintain after handover unless the SOW says otherwise.
Unless the SOW includes a non-disclosure agreement, we may show the work in our portfolio, case studies, presentations, awards submissions and marketing materials.
We treat all client information as confidential. We sign standard mutual non-disclosure agreements on request before any commercially sensitive brief is shared.
Every website or product build is warranted against bugs in code we wrote for 30 days after launch. Bugs reported within the 30-day window are fixed at no charge. Changes in scope, third-party integrations or content updates are not covered.
We are not responsible for the performance, uptime or availability of third-party services (hosting, payment gateways, analytics, plugins) used in the project.
Support after the 30-day warranty is available on monthly retainer or ad-hoc at our standard hourly rate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ikonik Studio's total liability for any claim arising out of a project engagement is limited to the total fees paid by the client for that project. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental or special damages, including lost profits, lost revenue or lost data.
Either party may cancel a project engagement with written notice. On cancellation, the client pays for all work completed to the date of cancellation, plus any non-cancellable third-party costs already committed on the client's behalf. Deposits are non-refundable.
These terms and any project engagement are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of South Africa unless the parties agree to mediation or arbitration.
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be noted at the top with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
