Ikonik Studio · Bromhof, Randburg

Web design, in Johannesburg.

An independent digital studio in Bromhof, Randburg — a short drive from Sandton, Rosebank and the Northern Suburbs. We make custom websites, brand systems and marketing tools for South African and international clients, on WordPress, WooCommerce and hand-coded static. Twelve years in, a small studio, in partnership with Creative Valkyrie in Cape Town.

About the studio

Small studio. Wide range.

Ikonik is a two-person studio built around Jenna Deacon (design, AI, paid, SEO) and a partnership with Tiffany Barrett at Creative Valkyrie in Cape Town (brand, illustration, art direction). Between us, twelve years of client work across finance, hospitality, retail, ecommerce, tech and nonprofit.

We build in whatever tool the job actually needs — hand-coded static HTML/CSS/JS for boutique sites that have to be fast; custom WordPress themes when there's a content team to hand over to; WooCommerce for stores; Shopify for D2C. No page builders, no plugin stacks, no filler between you and the person doing the work.

How we work

How we bring your website to life.

Five steps. Transparent, dated, and delivered by the humans doing the work. No tech jargon, no confusion, no surprises — just a straight line from first call to launched site.

Step 01

Discover & plan

A proper conversation about your business, audience and goals. We map your site structure and user journey — simple and effective.

Step 02

Content & visual style

You bring the content or we help write it. We agree the visual direction — bold, calm, editorial, whatever fits the brand.

Full visual mock-up of home and key pages. You see exactly how the site will look before a line of code gets written.

Step 04

Step 05

Launch & support

FAQ

Still wondering about a new website?

How much does web design cost in Johannesburg?
Every website Ikonik Studio builds is quoted after a short brief call. We scope your project properly, understand what you actually need, and come back with a fixed number and a plan — no hourly billing, no surprise invoices, no scope creep.
How long does it take to build a website?
Boutique static sites typically ship in 4-6 weeks. Larger WordPress or custom builds run 8-12 weeks depending on scope. Ecommerce and multi-language builds are 10-16 weeks. Every timeline is agreed and dated in your kickoff brief.
Do you work with clients outside Johannesburg?
Yes — most of our clients are outside Johannesburg. Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria, Stellenbosch, Plettenberg Bay plus international clients across the UK and EU. Everything's remote-friendly on a shared workspace with weekly demos.
Will my website look good on mobile?
Every site is mobile-first — designed on mobile before desktop, tested across every major device, and shipped with Core Web Vitals scores that Google Search Console won't flag. Mobile is default, not an afterthought.
Do you handle SEO and hosting?
Yes. Every website ships with SEO fundamentals baked in — semantic HTML, schema markup, sitemap, Google Search Console setup. Hosting is set up on trusted providers. Ongoing SEO and hosting management available as retainers.
Do you offer website maintenance packages?
Yes. Monthly care plans covering updates, backups, uptime monitoring, security scans and content edits, scaling up to include WooCommerce monitoring, integrations and expert on-call support. Month-to-month, no lock-in.
Will I own my website once it's finished?
Yes. Every project ships with full source code, credentials, documentation and hosting access transferred to you. Your domain, your site, your control — no lock-in, no hostage tactics.
Do you work with nonprofits and NPOs?
Yes. Registered nonprofits, PBOs and Section 21 companies get preferential terms — just share your PBO or NPO registration number and we'll take it from there.
