The project

A file toolbox that respects your files.

Squishly Tools is an Ikonik Studio product — a browser-first toolbox for compressing images, PDFs and documents. Every operation runs on the user's own machine using JavaScript in the browser. Files never touch a server, which means no upload wait, no storage costs and no privacy risk.

The stack is aggressively static: pre-rendered HTML, small vanilla JS bundles per tool, and per-page guides that turn each utility into its own SEO-friendly landing page. The whole thing runs on a CDN with no backend to keep alive.

The challenge

Every online tool wants to own your file.

The usual pattern for "free" file tools online: upload your document, wait in a queue, watch an ad, get a compressed version back — and quietly hand your file to a third party you know nothing about. For anything even mildly sensitive, that's not a trade most people want to make.

The brief was to build a toolbox that gave people the utility without the trade. Everything had to happen in-browser, the site had to load instantly, and each tool needed its own SEO surface so people searching for a specific job (compress a PDF, resize an image, convert a HEIC) could land straight on the right utility.

The approach

Static, in-browser, one page per job.

A static HTML site with tiny vanilla JS bundles per tool, each with its own SEO page and how-to guide.

  1. 01 · Client-side processingEvery compression, conversion and squish runs in the browser using WebAssembly and modern JS APIs. Files never leave the machine.
  2. 02 · Static, CDN-only stackNo backend, no database, no server bills. Pre-rendered HTML plus per-tool JS bundles served from a CDN — near-instant load anywhere in the world.
  3. 03 · One page per tool, plus guidesEach utility has its own landing page with a focused H1, a how-to guide and structured data — so search traffic lands on the exact tool it was looking for.
The outcome

An owned Ikonik product with zero server cost.

Squishly Tools ships as a live product with no infrastructure to maintain. The static-first architecture means it scales for free, the client-side processing means users trust it with sensitive files, and the per-tool SEO pages give it a growing organic footprint.
